3 Still Standing

The 1980s comedy scene in San Francisco was bustling, producing stand-up legends such as Robin Williams, Dana Carvey and Paula Poundstone.

Then the comedy bubble burst, comics moved to New York and LA and Bay Area clubs were shuttered. This is the story of three comedians – Will Durst, Larry “Bubbles” Brown and Johnny Steele – whose talent and determination to continue doing what they love buoyed them through Bay Area’s comedy recession into present day.

3 Still Standing includes rare footage of Robin Williams and Dana Carvey and long-gone comedy clubs of San Francisco.
